Student Services Office
The Student Services Office (Room 4110) manages student affairs for CLIS. Its mission is to recruit students, monitor the progress of current students from orientation to graduation, and serve as liaison with other University offices relative to student issues. The staff handles inquiries from prospective students, processes applications, manages orientation, registration, and graduation within CLIS, supervises the selection of graduate assistants, and distributes information about professional positions. It also coordinates the social events of the College and assists the student chapters of the professional organizations as needed.
Student Services Office personnel also provide course schedules and descriptions, etc. for upcoming semesters, as well as registration information and guidance. Advising the CLIS Student Organization, coordinating many CLIS projects, and keeping locker registrations are also services of Student Services Office staff. You should feel welcome to stop by at any time. A wall rack outside the Student Services Office holds copies of schedules and pertinent forms. A bulletin board outside the office has notices of interest.
The Student Services Office staff is always glad to answer questions about College and University facilities, regulations and activities. Whether a pressing problem with registration or financial aid, a personal or academic dilemma, or just the need to talk something over, the Student Services Office staff is available to help. If they cannot help with a solution directly, they will provide appropriate referrals that can save you time and effort.
The office is staffed by the Director of Student Services, Advisors, Administrative aide, Communication Coordinator, a special assistant, and graduate assistants. It is open weekdays, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. By appointment, one can meet with staff after hours.
